Preclinical Studies

Research on transcranial electrical stimulation of the brain has generated key insights and has laid the foundation for the development of the innovative EASEE® system.

A series of preliminary studies were completed to optimize the safety and effectiveness of the stimulation electrode.

The sensory threshold for electrical stimulation was examined in heathy subjects using Stimulation electrodes applied to the sclap. Both Stimulation patterns used in EASEE® were well tolerated.

Epilepsy patients were stimulated with scalp electrodes using two different stimulation patterns and the effects on brain activity, were observed via EEG. Both stimulation patterns had similar effects on the EEG. All subjects tolerated the stimulation well.
